Raise Awareness
Wherever you look in the world, mental health is often accompanied by significant levels of stigma and misunderstanding. Miles for Mental Health’s (M4MH) first strategic goal is to raise awareness on mental health by describing the burden of mental health around the globe; demystifying mental health issues, signs, and symptoms; and demonstrating evidence-based interventions for improving mental health.
By engaging with our educational content, you can become a champion for mental health in our effort to reduce disparities in detection, treatment, and prevention, worldwide. M4MH will provide you with internationally-accepted statistics, expert insights, testimonials, resources, and more, so that you might be more equipped to make an impact on the prevalence of mental health disorders in your community.
Raise Funds
There are hundreds of organizations around the world that are fighting to improve mental health outcomes in their local communities. More often than not, however, these organizations are struggling to find sustainable funding, at scale, which would allow them to make substantial contributions to their mental health systems. M4MH’s second strategic goal is to raise funds for these organizations, from the smallest to the largest, so that they will have more capacity to effect change on their communities.
M4MH encourages you to give directly to these organizations, where feasible, to ensure that your funds make the greatest possible impact on the burden of mental health disorders. M4MH focuses on raising funds for nonprofits which are headquartered or operate in lower- and middle-income countries, where the burden on the community far outweighs the resources available.
